Astle, Cheshire, England
This small hamlet was the origin of the Astle surname in this area of the country. It appears to be two properties now, and it is possible to stay at Astle Farm East as they advertise as a Bed & Breakfast. Nearby Astle Hall is also shown on the map but it has not been owned or occupied by people of that name for several hundred years. More information about the early lords of the manor can be found in In Ormerod’s History of Cheshire page 712 and 713.
